Wealth management group Ord Minnett has announced a slew of appointments across its institutional equities sales and private client research teams.

Ashley Cox will join Ord Minnett’s institutional equities sales team. Mr Cox spent the last 10 years as a director for equities at Deutsche and brings more than 20 years’ experience across equities, derivatives and fixed income to the role. He has also held roles at Corus Capital, Lehman Brothers, NAB, and Merrill Lynch.

Michael Gerges will join Ord Minnett’s Sydney institutional research team as senior research analyst for healthcare. Mr Gerges joins from Blue Ocean Equities, where he covered the healthcare sector across pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, IVF clinics and diagnostic imaging.

“The new appointments strengthen Ords’ Institutional Research teams’ dominance in stock coverage and analysis,” said head of institutional equities, Nick Burmester.

Also joining are James Casey and Nic Burgess as senior research analysts, Luke Macnab as research analyst, and Supun Wijerathna as associate analyst. Malcolm Wood, a “highly regarded investment strategist, portfolio manager and analyst”, will also join the private client research team.

“The new appointments broaden the scope and depth of research coverage and capabilities across several industry sectors of wealth management, insurance, automotive, building & construction, consumer, telecommunications, IT services and technology,” Ord Minnett said.
