UBS Australia has headhunted several real estate experts from Macquarie to fill out its own team following a number of senior departures.

Andrew Scade will join the investment bank as co-head of real estate alongside Victoria Hardie. Mr Scade has over 16 years’ experience in real estate advisory at Macquarie Capital, including several years as head of real estate ECM. He is expected to commence with the bank in the first quarter of 2021.

Marco Ehrhardt, Derek Peczek and Dean Bartolotta are also joining the real estate team. Mr Ehrhardt joins after seven years at Macquarie, including four in real estate advisory. Meanwhile, Mr Peczek has been at Jarden Australia for a scant six weeks and is returning to UBS after leaving in 2019 to pursue non-banking opportunities. Mr Bartolotta joins from Moelis, where he was a generalist/tech analyst.

The new hires will join Jessie Zhuang, who rejoined UBS in February 2020, and James Croft. UBS’ real estate team has seen a number of senior departures, with head of real estate Tim Church heading to Morgan Stanley in August and real estate executive director Mitchell Schauer taking the role of managing director and head of real estate at Jarden.
