Aberdeen Standard Investments has promoted two members of its Australian equities portfolio management team in recognition of their “deep experience in markets” and performance contributions.

ASI has appointed Natalie Tam to deputy head of Australian equities and Camille Simeon to investment director as an “endorsement” of their work.

“I am delighted to award these promotions to Natalie and Camille, who have been committed members of the Australian equities team over the last 15 and 12 years, respectively,” said head of Australian equities Michelle Lopez.

“While the last nine months have been challenging, both Natalie and Camille have stepped up and led on projects in addition to their day-to-day analysis and portfolio management responsibilities, which have been extraordinarily demanding during these times.

“Furthermore, the work Natalie and Camille have contributed to, to continue to grow our ESG engagement with businesses and their successes in the area this year is a testament to their promotions.”

Ms Tam joined Aberdeen in 2005 from Deutsche Bank, where she worked as a research analyst covering the media sector. She previously worked at Rothschild (investment banking) and Coca-Cola Amatil in corporate strategy, and is a CFA charterholder.

Ms Simeon joined ASI as an equities research manager in 2008 from Citigroup, where she was vice-president for institutional research sales in Australia and New York. She holds a bachelor of business in finance from the University of Technology Sydney, and has completed a post-graduate diploma in investment and financial analysis from the Securities Institute of Australia.
