Boutique appoints new COO

A boutique asset manager has announced the appointment of a new COO, adding a “significant level” of operational expertise and support to the business.

Lewis Bearman will step into the newly created position of chief operating officer at Blue Orbit Asset Management, supporting the firm’s growing investment management business. 

“We are delighted to have someone of Lewis’ calibre join the team in this senior role. Lewis’ many years of experience across the financial services industry and the managed funds sectors in particular will help grow the Blue Orbit’s business, as well as enable us to pursue our strategic initiatives,” said CEO Adam Randall. 

“His knowledge and depth of experience embracing all aspects of operations including developing institutional grade operating models, risk management and governance will be a significant asset to our business.”

Mr Bearman joins Blue Orbit from boutique incubator Prodigy Investment Partners, where he also held the position of COO. He has previously held senior positions at Perennial Investment Partners as COO and CEO, as well as at Invesco, where he was head of operations. He will commence in the role on 4 August.

Mr Bearman’s appointment is the latest in a string of new hires, including Cindy Chiang as operations manager and Matthew Oldham as assistant portfolio manager.
