S&P Dow Jones Indices gets new CEO

The world’s leading index provider has announced the appointment of a financial services veteran as its new CEO.

Dan Draper will take the role of CEO at S&P Down Jones Indices, responsible for all aspects of the index provider’s business globally.  

“I am excited to join S&P Dow Jones Indices and honoured to lead one of the most important and storied brands in indexing,” Mr Draper said. “I am looking forward to further strengthening our offerings to provide our global clients with innovative index-based solutions and help them navigate increasingly interconnected and complex markets.”

Mr Draper has held asset management, wealth management, and investment banking leadership positions with Invesco, Credit Suisse Asset Management, Lyxor, iShares/Barclays Global Investors, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Salomon Brothers.

He earned an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina and a bachelor of arts in economics from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. He is a CFA holder, a finance leaders fellow at the Aspen Institute, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
