A boutique asset manager has nabbed a former Franklin Templeton head of marketing to fill its newly created position of head of marketing and product.
Warakirri Asset Management has appointed Joe Marassa in the role, with him being set to lead the marketing, product and digital strategy for Warakirri and be part of the leadership team.
Mr Marassa will report to Warakirri managing director Jim McKay.
Mr McKay commented Mr Marassa’s experience in asset management and financial services will be “vital” to drive the company’s growth ambitions.
“Joe’s experience spans a wide range of asset classes and investment vehicles across the retail, wholesale and institutional channels,” he said.
“He also has a proven track record of growing brands and executing effective marketing and product strategies for several funds management businesses.”
Prior to Franklin Templeton, Mr Marassa was head of distribution services at ING Investment Management, where he spent more than eight years in strategic marketing, channel management and brand management roles.
Commenting on the new role, Mr Marassa said: “The head of marketing and product role is a greenfield opportunity; the organisation is undergoing transformational change and it’s an exciting time to build the Warakirri brand.”
