Mr Syed will report to Citi Australia’s chief economist Josh Williamson.

Citi Australia and New Zealand managing director and head of research Craig Woolford said the appointment will allow Citi to provide more tailored insights on financial market implications for Australia.

“Client demand for deeper insights about key macro-economic influences continues to grow in this low interest rate environment,” Mr Woolford said.

“We look forward to Faraz’s experience strengthening our research insights at Citi.”

Prior to Moody’s, Mr Syed worked as a research economist at the Australian Bureau of Agricultural Resources, Economics and Sciences.
