Effective 1 February 2020, Ruth Stringer will join HUB24’s board and become a member of its audit, risk and compliance committee drawing on leadership and legal expertise across funds management, superannuation, life insurance and financial planning, according to a statement.

Ms Stringer’s career to date includes working for MLC, where she was a member of the leadership team. More recently, she worked with ASIC and is currently engaged as a consultant to Herbert Smith Freehills.

Prior board experience includes time on the Board of Taxation’s advisory panel, and the steering committee of the International Pension and Employee Benefit Lawyers Association.

Ms Stringer was also a member of the Comprehensive Income Products for retirement (CIPR) Framework Advisory Group.

“Ruth Stringer’s appointment as non-executive director strengthens the board’s skills in legal, risk and compliance in addition to overall financial services experience, where Ruth has a strong track record through her highly successful career as a senior executive and well-respected financial services lawyer,” said HUB24 chairman Bruce Higgins.

“Ruth’s appointment as our first female director is an important part of our strategy to increase diversity within our business.  I look forward to Ruth’s contribution as a director of HUB24.”
