Janus Henderson picks marketing boss

Janus Henderson Investors has hired asset management marketing veteran Heather Gyton Carroll as its head of marketing for Australia.

Ms Gyton Carroll has joined the firm from Perpetual Investments where she was also head of marketing.

Prior to Perpetual, Ms Gyton Caroll was head of marketing at Colonial First State Global Asset Management (now First Sentier), where she spent seven years working in strategic marketing, channel management and brand management for Australia as well as the group’s portfolio of brands worldwide.

Ms Gyton Carroll will be based in Sydney, reporting to Matt Gaden, head of Australia and head of Asia-Pacific marketing, Geraldine Walsh.

Mr Gaden said her experience in asset management marketing will be “vital” to assist with Janus Henderson’s growth ambitions in Australia.

“Heather’s experience spans a wide range of asset classes and investment vehicles across the retail, wholesale and institutional channels,” Mr Gaden said.

“She also has a proven track record of establishing and growing brands and executing effective marketing strategies for diversified funds management businesses.”

Ms Gyton Carroll started her career in asset management at Hermes Investment Management in London.

Janus Henderson held around $512.7 billion in assets under management as at 30 June.

The London-headquartered company reported having more than 2,000 employees worldwide.
