Global payments company Verrency has appointed Jeroen van Son to the role of managing director commercial, Australia and New Zealand.

In this role Mr van Son will oversee all commercial, revenue-generating and client-related activities across Australia and New Zealand, including client management and business development.

Mr van Son has over two decades of experience in payments, most recently as the managing director for Australia and New Zealand at global fintech Cred.

“I am convinced that Verrency’s approach to enabling banks, issuers and processors to rapidly innovate around the moment of payment is of strategic relevance and is resonating with the market. With a number of financial institutions around the world already on board, the market clearly agrees with this view, ” said Mr van Son.

Verrency chief executive David Link welcomed Mr van Son and said he was excited to see his experience project Verrency forward.

“His extensive experience in payments and financial services, strong track record of developing foundational and enduring relationships, and leading high-performance teams make him a natural fit for what we are building at Verrency,” said Mr Link.

Mr van Son joins the executive team alongside Mr Link and chief technology officer Euan Walker, former head of delivery at ANZ Bank.
