Bell Direct appoints sales and marketing head

Online broker Bell Direct has filled its newly created position of head of sales and marketing, with the company saying it is expanding its offering.

Tim Sparks has come to the role from Vanguard Australia, where he was the national manager of broking and wealth management.

Mr Sparks will be held responsible for leading the sales and marketing function across Bell Direct, Desktop Broker and Bell Potter Online.

A key focus, the company added, will be driving investor and adviser take-up of Bell’s Direct’s suite of products and spearheading new initiatives.

“Tim’s expertise and fresh perspective will be invaluable as the organisation continues to evolve to meet the needs of our clients,” Arnie Selvarajah, chief executive, Bell Direct said.

“As the only broking platform in Australia with an end-to-end technology solution, we are well-positioned to respond and adapt to the rapidly changing market dynamics.”

Prior to Vanguard, Mr Sparks held senior roles at iShares Australia, Mariner Financial and CommSec.

He will commence in the role on 27 May.
