Altius is Australian Unity’s cash and fixed interest manager and Mr Tang’s role will focus on supporting the management of its $2 billion cash and fixed interest portfolio.
Mr Tang previously worked at AMP Capital and, as a quantitative analyst for AMP’s clients including super funds, defined benefit schemes and not-for-profits.
Chief investment officer of Altius Assest Management said that Mr Tang’s appointment further augments the capability of the team.
“Mr Tang adds an extra dimension to the skills we bring to the table in the areas of risk management and portfolio construction,” he said.
Mr Tang said he was excited to join a growing manager in a period where low interest rates meant investors were turning their attention to the cash and fixed interest part of their portfolio for the best returns.
