The former general manager, distribution for Perpetual Investments has joined the team at Neuberger Berman in a newly created role.
Matthew Thompson has more than twenty years experience in the investment management industry, having worked at Perpetual Investments, NAB Asset Management and Colonial First State.
Mr Thompson will take on the role as head of intermediary distribution in Australia and will grow the firm’s intermediary business here.
Neuberger Berman currently manages $8 billion for Australian clients as well as being the investment manager of the NB Global Corporate Income Trust which just finished its IPO.
Neuberger Berman’s head of Asia Pacific Nick Hoar said the appointment of Mr Thompson underlined the commitment of the company to Australia.
“We are delighted to welcome Matt to our already established Australian business. Matt’s proven track record in the industry will help us broaden and deepen our client base and also maintain our momentum following the successful IPO of the NB Global Corporate Income Trust,” he said.
