Former CBA executive joins fintech

A former senior CBA executive has made the movement into fintech and will be the new chief executive officer for the bank-backed payment app.

Angela Clark, former senior CBA executive has been announced as the new chief executive officer for Beem It.

Beem It, is a payments app that was established at the start of the year by NAB, Westpac and Commonwealth Bank to deliver a better payment experience to customers.

Ms Clark was a part of the team that spearheaded the founding of the Beem It venture, with a vision to create a digital wallet and payment platform for all Australians.

Ms Clark said Beem It represented innovation and technology that helped Australians to be more human, not less than.

“Beem It has a customer-first vision for making everyday payments moments an enjoyable and seamless experience. This lets our users focus on the experience itself, rather than the payment,” she said.

Beem It chair Kim Anderson said that Ms Clark had exceptional leadership experience across traditional banking and also innovative startups.

“We are delighted to have her lead this initiative and look forward to building an innovative and inclusive platform that delivers value across the Australian payments landscape,” Ms Anderson said.
