The fixed income specialist group has appointed Jean Dumas as portfolio manager within the investment strategy team and Darren Wadhera in the portfolio implementation team.

Mr Dumas joins Ardea from Deutsche Bank where he has spent over twenty years in various roles, including head of relative value research for Europe and fixed income trading positions focusing on global volatility and interest rate derivative markets across London and Sydney.

Mr Wadhera has 21 years’ experience in global fixed incomes from his time working on fixed income derivatives at Commonwealth Bank and as an analyst at ANZ Capital Markets.

Ardea principal and co-founder Ben Alexander welcomed the new hires who he said would strengthen Ardea in key areas after a strong period of growth.

“These appointments represent an investment in both our alpha generating capability, especially in relative value investing, as well as in our capacity to manage risk positions and trade efficiently, a fundamental part of our business,” he said.

Mr Alexander said the new hires would add value to their range of domestic and global fixed income strategies.

“Jean and Darren give us more bandwidth and depth of experience. They are a great fit for us both culturally and in terms of our rigorous investment approach,” said Mr Alexander.

As of 30 June 2018, Ardea has recorded over $10 billion funds under management.
