Sunsuper chair Andrew Fraser said in a statement that Ms Williams’ experience was a benefit to the super fund.

“Ms Williams’ appointment will complement the diverse and significant pool of talent that already  sits on the Sunsuper board,” Mr Fraser said.

Ms William will replace former director Theresa Moltoni as an independent director.

Sunsuper has $56 billion funds under management and over 1.3 million members.
