Prior to stepping into the new position, Ms Williams held the role of AustralianSuper group executive, engagement, advocacy and brand for three years from 2014 to 2016.

Prior to that, she was head of brand and marketing at Bank of Melbourne, and most recently she was chief executive of Food and Wine Victoria from August 2017 until February 2018.

Currently, Ms Williams serves on the board of Reece Group as well as Lifestyle Communities.

Sunsuper chair Andrew Fraser said in a statement that Ms Williams’ experience was a benefit to the super fund.

“Ms Williams’ appointment will complement the diverse and significant pool of talent that already  sits on the Sunsuper board,” Mr Fraser said.

Ms William will replace former director Theresa Moltoni as an independent director.

Sunsuper has $56 billion funds under management and over 1.3 million members.
