Lonsec Holdings has appointed former Paragem Australia co-founder Charlie Haynes as its new group chief executive officer.

In a statement, Lonsec Holdings announced the co-founder of non-aligned dealer group Paragem would join the firm as its new group chief executive.

Mr Haynes has 30 years’ experience in systems, project management and management consulting, having held senior positions at Lloyds, Bankers Trust and Worldgroup.

He co-founded and has been a director of Paragem since 2005, and prior to that was managing director of financial technology provider FIS-Software.

Lonsec Holdings has also appointed Ian Knox as a director of the board, who brings nearly four decades of experience in the funds management and financial planning industries.

He is also a Paragem co-founder, and will leverage his experience with fund managers and financial advice firms towards Lonsec’s growth strategy.

Commenting on the appointments, Lonsec Holdings chair Jeff Bresnahan said: “Both Charlie and Ian have successful track records in growing businesses.

“At the same time, Charlie is incredibly well respected for his strong client and staff focus as well as proven execution capabilities. These attributes fit perfectly with Lonsec’s strategy,” he said.

“These appointments are significant for the group and to have two individuals so highly experienced and regarded, who both have such confidence in Lonsec, speaks volumes on Lonsec’s current market positioning and the opportunities available,” Mr Bresnahan concluded.
