US-based financial services firm Wells Fargo Asset Management has appointed two former senior members of Schroders’ multi-asset team.
Former Schroders head of advanced beta, multi-asset and head of portfolio construction and trading systems, Peter Weidner and Mark Brandreth, have been appointed as head of factor solutions and senior portfolio manager at Wells Fargo AM, respectively.
The two senior appointments are the latest additions to Wells Fargo AM’s multi-asset team, which has now seen six new appointments since October.
Based in London and reporting to global head of portfolio solutions Dan Morris, Mr Weidner and Mr Brandreth will construct portfolios and service clients seeking retirement income strategies, wealth preservation and downside risk protection.
During his time at Schroders, Mr Weidner managed a number of investment strategies, including both long and long/short across various asset classes.
He has experience in constructing and managing portfolios across equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and ESG.
Mr Brandreth is a former BlackRock managing director and held various roles at Barclays Global Investors, including head of quantitative investment processes, head of European active equities and head of active UK equities.
Commenting on the appointments, Wells Fargo AM head of multi-asset solutions Nico Marais said, “The addition of Peter and Mark to our team further enhances our ability to provide thought leadership and deliver high-quality solutions to our clients, with the goal of establishing the team as an innovator in the industry.”
