“Given his deep experience and extensive industry relationships in the region, a strong, well-respected leader like Woon Pin will no doubt expand and strengthen our real estate capabilities in Asia-Pacific,” Mr Jacobs said.

“We are always searching the world, including Asia, for the most attractive real estate opportunities for our investors, and we will continue to build on the global network of our team.”

Franklin Templeton managing director for Asia-Pacific Mark Browning said the region was a “key market” for clients.

“Long term growth prospects for real estate in the region remain bright and supported by strong fundamentals,” he said.

“We are excited to have someone of Woon Pin’s calibre on board and look forward to leveraging his knowledge and experience as our business continues to grow.”

Commenting on his own appointment, Mr Chong said he was honoured to be part of the team at the firm.

“I share the firm’s passion and commitment to delivering value to investors, and look forward to contributing to the growth and evolution of the FRAA real estate business,” Mr Chong said.
