VanEck Australia expands to cover Asia-Pacific

VanEck has broadened the remit of its Australian business to include the Asia Pacific.

VanEck managing director, Australia Arian Neiron and intermediary and institutional business development manager Matthew McKinnon have had their positions expanded to include Asia-Pacific, according to a statement.

Mr Neiron has held the position of VanEck managing director, Australia for over five years and prior to this position was at Sunstone Partners, Perpetual Limited and Credit Suisse in portfolio specialist and senior product development roles.

Before his nearly five years at VanEck, Mr McKinnon also spent five and a half years at Perpetual Limited as general manager, retail sales and equities from 2006 to 2012.

He also held roles at IOOF, Aviva Investors and Rothschild Asset Management.

“As part of a regional initiative we are strengthening our commitment to deliver our global investment solutions in Asia,” Mr Neiron said.

“This will be across the range of our active and passive strategies.”

The rest of VanEck’s Australia team spanning the areas of marketing, legal and compliance will also take on responsibility for the region on top of their current roles.

Business development vice president Nicholas Jackson will attend to servicing private banks and family offices in Asia-Pacific, while Russell Grigg and Bradley Livingstone-Foggo become general counsel and head of compliance, Asia-Pacific and head of marketing, Asia-Pacific, respectively.
