Global asset manager BNY Mellon Investment Management has appointed a head of intermediary distribution, greater China.
Phoebe Ao Ieong steps into the Hong Kong-based role with over a decade’s experience in private banking, wealth and asset management, according to a statement.
She was most recently head of private bank distribution at Hong Kong-based asset manager Income Partners Asset Management and prior to that held a variety of roles for JPMorgan Chase and JP Morgan Asset Management between 2009 and 2015 across Sydney and Hong Kong.
Ms Ieong’s new role will see her further BNY Mellon’s relationships with third-party distributors and private banks in greater China, which covers mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, and give clients access to investment managers in multiple asset classes such as equities, fixed income, private debt and private equity.
Commenting on the appointment, BNY Mellon IM head of intermediary distribution, Asia-Pacific ex Japan Nicolas Kopitsis said Phoebe would play a “key role in growing third party business in China and Hong Kong”.
“Phoebe has strong technical skills combined with excellent client service, making her a great addition to our business,” he said.
“Our Asia-Pacific third party distribution business continues to see strong support across a range of our investment boutiques from sub-investment grade debt solutions to high yield strategies.”
Ms Ieong has already commenced in her new role and reports to Mr Kopitsis.
