Transport industry and logistics super fund TWUSuper has named a Tasmanian Transport Association executive director as alternate director.
Michelle Harwood has been appointed to the position of alternate director and brings with her more than 20 years’ experience across the food, transport and logistics industries, according to a statement.
Prior to her current position as executive director at the Tasmanian Transport Association, she was operations manager at training organisation TransTrain.
Before that, Ms Harwood spent approximately five years in the food industry training boards and councils as a research officer and literacy project officer.
Commenting on the appointment, TWUSuper independent chairman David Galbally said, “Michelle’s extensive experience in the transport industry will complement the board’s rigorous decision-making process for the betterment of our 120,000 plus members.”
The appointment adds to Ms Harwood’s experience serving as an executive director of the Tasmanian Transport Association, as well as a director of Transport Women Australia.
She serves alongside Timothy Dawson, Paul Ryan, Michael Kaine and Ian Smith as alternate directors of the super fund.
TWUSuper has more than $5.2 billion funds under management, the statement said.
