Former CIFR boss joins Alleron IM

David Gallagher, the former chief executive of the Centre of Excellence in International Finance and Regulation, will advise Alleron Investment Management on portfolio risk.

Alleron Investment Management has appointed David Gallagher as a member of its portfolio risk and process committee.

Mr Gallagher has an academic background, having graduated from the University of Sydney Business School with a PhD in Finance in 2002.

He recently held the chief executive position at the Centre of Excellence in International Finance and Regulation before it folded after the federal government withdrew its funding.

Alleron chief executive Barry Littler welcomed Mr Gallagher in his official role at the company.

"Risk management is a specialised area and to have access to his expertise is a great addition to our team. David is well known in the industry and has lectured and mentored many market professionals over the years," Mr Littler said.
