The International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) has named Louise Davidson as the newest member of the board of directors, commencing in the role 1 October 2016.

Ms Davidson is currently the chief executive of the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI), and has over two decades of financial services and superannuation experience.

“I’m honoured to be appointed to the Board of the IIRC,” Ms Davidson said of her appointment.

Ms Davidson said she hoped to move the integrated reporting agenda forward in Australia and push for more in-depth reporting from businesses to better guide investment decisions.

“I believe it’s vital for businesses to consider wider value creation factors when developing their strategy. The more businesses consider all their opportunities and risks in a holistic way, the better they enhance their long term value and sustainable development,” she added.

Ms Davidson’s three year term as a board member will commence next month, and according to an ACSI spokesperson, marks the board’s first appointment from Australia.
