BNP Paribas creates new senior role

BNP Paribas Investment Partners has revealed that James Langlands will move into the newly created position of head of advice business for Australia and New Zealand.

A former BlackRock executive, Mr Langlands has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, across both sales and operations, and held a number of different roles in his 15 years with BlackRock, including director, head of wealth advisory for retail, director of the institutional client business, and co-head of customised portfolio service.

Mr Langlands will be responsible for growing BNP Paribas Investment Partners’ funds under management by working with key market influencers such as dealer groups, private wealth firms and private banks.

BNP Paribas Investment Partners Australia and New Zealand chief executive, David Grybas, said Mr Langlands will play a key role in growing the businesses investment solutions.

“We look forward to James joining our already robust team. His wealth of experience will be instrumental in broadening the availability of our investment solutions in Australian and Global Equities, Emerging Markets, Global Fixed Income and Alternatives to the advised segment,” he said.

Mr Langlands will commence in the new role mid-August 2016.
