Morningstar appoints head of APAC ratings

Morningstar has named Sydney-based Kathryn Young as director of manager research ratings, Asia-Pacific.

In addition to her appointment, Ms Young will also chair the Asia-Pacific ratings committee.

She succeeds Tom Whitelaw as director of manager research ratings. Mr Whitelaw is relocating to Chicago to take up his new role of Morningstar global equity ratings leader.

Morningstar has also appointed Grant Kennaway to the new role of global practice leader. He will remain head of the Asia-Pacific manager research practice.

In another new appointment, Chris Traulsen has been named global ratings leader.

“Chris Traulsen, CFA, based in London, has been appointed global ratings leader, a new role in which he is responsible for Morningstar analyst rating assignments globally,” Morningstar said in a statement.

“Traulsen was most recently director of manager research for Morningstar in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.”
