Former GBST chief executive for wealth administration Ray Tubman has been appointed to the board of financial services IT registry hub APIR.

APIR announced the appointment of Ray Tubman as a non-executive director following the company's annual general meeting in November 2015.

Mr Tubman co-founded InfoComp in 1988, which went on to design financial services software Composer that was purchased by GBST in 2007.

After the takeover Mr Tubman was the head of product strategy for wealth management at GBST until 2013, before being promoted to chief executive of wealth administration.

APIR chairman Andy Hutchings Broso said Mr Tubman's skills would "play a fundamental role as we continue to innovate operations and services delivered across the region".

Mr Tubman said APIR provides "one of the core fabrics of the Australian wealth management industry".

"I look forward to being involved in some innovative new solutions from APIR that may further transform our industry in Australia and abroad," Mr Tubman said.
