Nikko AM names NZ managing director

Nikko Asset Management New Zealand has named a new managing director to replace Peter Lynn, who is set to take on a global role within the company.

George Carter will join Nikko Asset Management in November as managing director of New Zealand.

Nikko Asset Management president and chief executive Takumi Shibata said: "We are delighted to welcome George Carter to Nikko Asset Management to lead our New Zealand team.

“With his proven track record and reputation in the New Zealand market, George is well placed to build on the momentum established under Peter Lynn’s leadership."

Mr Carter joins the firm after serving as head of distribution at AMP Capital.

Mr Lynn will relocate to Singapore where he will head product promotions, with global responsibility for products across a range of asset classes, a statement from the firm said.
