JP Morgan Asset Management has appointed a global market strategist in order to expand the firm’s market insights program in Australia.

Kerry Craig will relocate from London to Melbourne to assume the newly created role of global market strategist.

Mr Craig will be responsible for delivering market analysis and insights, and communicating the investment views of the firm to retail and institutional clients.

Moreover, Mr Craig will be tasked with driving the company's market insights program – aimed at providing financial advisers and institutional investors with timely market and economic insight.

JP Morgan Asset Management head of Australia funds David Hallifax said: “Australia is a strategic priority for [JP Morgan], with significant investment being put into local operations to ensure growth and success, and Kerry’s appointment further supports this.

“The decision to place a strategist locally was also in response to client feedback received as part of our market consultation process and we are confident that our market insights program, coupled with Kerry’s experience, will be a key differentiator for us.”

JP Morgan Asset Management chief market strategist, Asia, Tai Hui said: “Following the launch of the Guide to the Markets – Asia, which has been well received by our clients across the region, we are looking forward to having Kerry available in Australia to deliver the highest quality investment insights and services to our local clients.

“We are confident that the team and our clients will benefit from the extensive experience and deep expertise Kerry brings to this newly created role.”
