The South Australian industry fund has made its COO the fund's acting chief executive following the departure of John O’Flaherty on 1 May.
Nicolle Rantanen will step in to the role of acting chief executive after chief executive John O’Flaherty announced his retirement at the beginning of the month.
Ms Rantanen has been COO of Statewide for the past five years and received a National Fund Executives Association award in 2014.
"Now in the lead role her focus is on ensuring that Statewide is a competitive provider of superannuation and financial services that outperforms on returns and is recognised for superior member and employer services," a statement by Statewide said.
"Nicolle’s extensive experience within the superannuation industry is backed by her strength in strategic planning, organisational development, business improvement, finance, systems and administration."
