JP Morgan AM names head of sovereign and institutional

JP Morgan Asset Management has promoted Rachel Farrell to the position of head of sovereign and institutional for the Asia Pacific ex Japan.

Rachel Farrell has been appointed in the role and will transition from her previous position as head of sovereign and institutional, south and south east Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Ms Farrell will be responsible for coordinating and leading the institutional business in the region, a statement from JP Morgan AM said.

JP Morgan AM global head of sovereigns Patrick Thomson said: “Asia is a critical market for our global asset management franchise and I am confident that the team and our clients will benefit from this important appointment.”

“Given the strong growth of our institutional business in the Asia Pacific region, I am pleased to have Rachel to play this important role in helping develop our business to the next level.

“With over 20 years of investment management and advisory experience in the US, Europe and Asia, Rachel is both highly regarded and deeply experienced,” he said.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Farrell said: “I am really excited to have assumed responsibility for the further development of our institutional business in the region.”

Prior to joining JP Morgan AM, Ms Farrell was head of Asia Pacific investor relations and distribution for Citi Capital Advisors.
