Sunsuper has appointed former Association of Financial Advisers executive Anne Fuchs as the national manager of the super fund's retail distribution division.

Ms Fuchs will be responsible for growing the company’s market share among financial planners and accountants in addition to managing the fund's National Advice Panel, according to a statement.

Most recently, she was the chief commercial officer of the Association of Financial Advisers.

Along with Ms Fuch's appointment, Sunsuper has appointed David Woodall as national manager for institutional, with Mike Smith for corporate sales.

The recent appointments will position Sunsuper to effectively respond to a changing marketplace, a statement issued by the fund said.

Sunsuper executive general manager of growth and advice, Michael Mulholland, said the hires add “firepower” to the fund’s capabilities in the corporate space.

“David, Mike and Anne’s wide-ranging experience and wealth of business knowledge will ensure we are best placed to take advantage of every opportunity to win new business and grow our client and member base nationally,” Mr Mulholland said.

Mr Woodall will be charged with increasing Sunsuper’s exposure to large corporates, while Mr Smith will lead the business development team, focusing on winning default superannuation mandates in the mid-market.

“With 95,000 employers now on our books, Sunsuper already has a healthy national presence but these appointments mean we are now in a strong position to rapidly grow our corporate exposure,” Mr Mulholland said.
