Mercer has promoted from within to appoint a president of the company's growth markets region, which includes Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

David Anderson (pictured) has been promoted to the new role, and has now joined Mercer's global executive committee, reporting directly to Mercer president and chief executive Julio A Portalatin.

Ben Walsh will take on Mr Anderson's former role of managing director and market leader for the Pacific.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Walsh said, “I am thrilled to be taking on the role of Pacific market leader during a time of great opportunity for Mercer.

“Our strategy plan has been well considered, is ambitious and achievable – and it’s the right plan.

“Mercer’s people, clients and customers will be the beneficiaries as our Pacific Leadership Team continues to execute the plan,” said Mr Walsh.

Mercer president of the EuroPac Region, Simon O’Regan, said both appointments are a result of Mercer’s “strong leadership pipeline”.

“Both appointments are testament to Mercer’s commitment to creating a strong leadership pipeline via purposeful talent management – recognising potential and providing growth opportunities to our most talented people,” he said.
