Schroders added, Wellington dropped in small co line-u

Multi manager OptiMix has added Schroders to its Global Small Companies Share portfolio and terminated its mandate with Wellington Management.

Schroders joins existing investment managers Axa Rosenberg and Lazard Asset Management.

Explaining the manager changes OptiMix chief investment officer Emmanuel Calligeris said the ability to grow the portfolio with Wellington Management was limited.

"Schroders has been our preferred back up manager for Wellington with comparable performance, portfolio characteristics and emphasis on rotating towards smaller market capitalisation opportunities," he said.

In October 2006 OpitMix added a global emerging markets option to its manager line-up.

"Ongoing research of investment managers and the monitoring of their performance is an integral part of our investment process," Calligeris said.
