Willis Towers Watson has announced the appointment of Darren Oliver as the new national manager of workplace risk.

Commenting on the appointment, Willis Towers Watson head of client and industry Australasia, Chris Nelson, said Mr Oliver would be an asset to the business.

“Darren has an exceptional reputation in the Australasian market. His knowledge and experience will bring considerable benefit to our clients and will allow us to maintain and grow the already strong market presence held by our Workplace Risk team,” he said.

Mr Oliver was previously the managing director of Thomas James International, a business that specialises in people insurance and employee benefits, and also served as Aon’s head of practice.

“With the integration of the two organisations earlier this year, we have an unparalleled combination of analytics and benchmarking to offer our clients, as well as innovations in client accessibility. I’m excited to be offering these strategies to the market," Mr Oliver said.

“Ultimately, the workplace risk team members have one common goal, and that is ensuring we achieve a positive financial and cultural outcome for our internal and external clients."
