UBS Global Asset Management executive Shawn Lytle has been recruited by Macquarie to head its US-based Delaware Investments business.

Currently New York-based head of UBS GAM’s Americas operation, Mr Lytle will join Delaware as president effective 1 June 2015, after a 13-year stint at the Swiss-headquartered investment bank.

Mr Lytle will also assume the role of regional head of Macquarie Investment Management for North America, replacing Patrick Coyne who will remain at Delaware to assist the leadership transition until 30 September before retiring.

Global head of Macquarie Investment Management Ben Bruck said Mr Lytle is well placed to lead the investment manager into its next phase.

“We are very pleased to name Shawn as the next leader of Delaware Investments,” Mr Bruck said.

“He is well suited to embrace and promote everything that distinguishes Delaware from the competition – our multi-boutique structure, entrepreneurial approach to management and our leading platform.

“He sees the potential to continue to build Delaware Investments’ market share in the US, while also promoting the ongoing growth of our international cross-border business.”

Prior to his current role, Mr Lytle was a London-based portfolio manager at UBS and deputy global head of equities at the investment house, following a number of positions at JP Morgan Asset Management.
