A Zurich online survey of 150 advisers revealed 79 per cent owned smartphones and 24 per cent used Android based devices. This is expected to increase as more smartphones and tablets are launched in Australia.
“Although iPhones are very popular, the uptake of Android handsets is becoming significant and we have now responded with the launch of LifeXpress Mobile for Android,” Zurich national manager of sales, strategies and research Marc Fabris said.
The LifeXpress mobile application provided insurance quotations and a number of adviser tools, the company said.
“Not only does this app deliver premium quotations quickly, but it also provides other useful resources, such as underwriting requirements, plus the ability to email quotations from the device and save them online,” Fabris said.
