Team Super has announced the departure of long-serving independent director and investment committee chair Deirdre Wroth after nearly a decade on the board, while appointing industry veteran Neil Cochrane as her successor.

Wroth, who joined the fund’s board in 2017, will step down on 30 June after helping guide Team Super through a period marked by economic and regulatory challenges. During her tenure, she served as both independent director and chair of the investment committee.

Paying tribute to Wroth, Team Super co-chairs Christina Langby and Nick Sherry said: “Deirdre has been an extraordinary leader and a trusted voice on the Board.

“As Investment Committee Chair, she approached all matters with calmness, clarity and an unwavering focus on member outcomes.

“Her contribution to Team Super’s growth and resilience is immeasurable, and we are grateful for the impact she has made at Team Super. We wish her every success in her future endeavours.”

The fund has appointed Neil Cochrane as an independent director and chair of the investment committee, effective 1 July 2026.

Cochrane previously served as chair of Aware Super and most recently acted as an independent adviser to Team Super’s investment committee.

His career spans more than 36 years across the superannuation and financial services sectors. Alongside his role at Aware Super, Cochrane has chaired Commonwealth Bank Group Super and held executive positions including chief executive officer of REST Super and deputy chief executive officer of Colonial First State Global Asset Management.

Welcoming Cochrane to the board, Langby and Sherry said: “We are delighted to welcome Neil Cochrane to the Team Super Board.”

“Neil brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will be invaluable as we continue to navigate an evolving investment landscape on behalf of our members.

“Welcoming a director of Neil’s calibre is testament to what we’re building for our members, and we look forward to the fresh perspective and leadership he will bring to the Investment Committee.”

The appointment forms part of a planned leadership transition at Team Super, with Cochrane set to assume responsibility for overseeing the fund’s investment committee from the beginning of the new financial year.
