Suncorp Life has appointed Sean Carroll to the role of executive general manager for life risk in Australia.
Carroll comes to his new job directly from his role as executive general manager of Suncorp Life New Zealand, where he had responsibility for the New Zealand-based activities under the brands of Asteron and AA Life.
He said his responsibilities included providing operational support to key channels, including independent financial advisers, direct and group, on product development and pricing, underwriting and claims, and customer service.
Suncorp Life’s growth strategy included boosting in-force premiums through market-leading retention strategies, he said.
John Crosswell was previously the executive general manager for life risk in Australia . He moved on earlier in the year to pursue other opportunities.
“Life risk is the engine room of our life product and service offer at Suncorp Life, and the executive general manager role is critical to our business success,” Suncorp Life chief executive Geoff Summerhayes said.
“Sean leaves the New Zealand business in good shape and will continue to provide his oversight, supporting acting executive general manager for New Zealand Grant Willis until a replacement is announced.”
Suncorp Life is the life insurance, superannuation and investment, asset management and financial advice division of Suncorp Group.
