REI Super chief executive Jarrod Coysh will step down in September 2026 after more than seven years leading the industry superannuation fund for real estate professionals, with the board commencing a search for his successor.

Coysh will leave the fund to become chief executive at GMHBA, the profit-to-member private health insurer. The board said the recruitment process would include both internal and external candidates.

Chair Geoff Peck said Coysh had made a significant contribution to the fund during his tenure, overseeing stronger member services, an improved member experience, growth in funds under management and membership, and key operational initiatives including the transition to a new custodian and administrator.

“As CEO, Jarrod has made a significant contribution to the fund over the past seven years. Over this time, working with the board and his executive team, Jarrod has focused on delivering an expansion of services to members and employers, enhanced the member experience, driven a significant increase in funds under management and member growth, while focusing on the execution of sustainable outcomes for the fund, including the transition of our custodian and our administrator.”

Peck said members and employers should expect no disruption during the leadership transition.

“The board would like to reassure members and employers that there will be no disruption to services and the fund’s operations and member support will continue seamlessly through this transition.”

Reflecting on his departure, Coysh said he was proud of what the team had accomplished while maintaining an unwavering focus on members.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at REI Super and am incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together as a team, with a strong and unwavering focus on putting our members first. I leave knowing the fund is in great shape, and I sincerely thank the board of trustees, the executive team, and everyone in the trustee office for building such a strong culture and making REI Super a truly terrific place to work.”
