Brighter Super has expanded its adviser services capability with a string of new appointments, continuing a broader investment push into adviser relationships and distribution support.

The Queensland-based super fund said its adviser services team has doubled in size over the past two years as it looks to strengthen engagement with financial advisers and improve service delivery to advice practices.

Among the latest additions is Hayley Gowans, who joined the fund in April as business development manager after spending several years managing adviser portfolios in insurance-sector BDM roles across Queensland.

Brighter Super said her experience working closely with advisers and stakeholders would bring a “fresh perspective” to the superannuation sector.

The fund has also appointed Nicole Ciavarella into a newly created senior business development consultant role, with responsibilities spanning adviser operations, onboarding and issue resolution.

Ciavarella brings more than 15 years of experience across governance, risk and superannuation environments, having worked extensively alongside advisers, licensees and BDMs.

Tom Covino also joined the adviser growth division as a business development consultant following experience supporting distribution teams within funds management.

His background includes adviser support, portfolio reporting and translating investment data into practical insights for clients and internal stakeholders.

Overseeing the division is head of IFA partnership and growth, Craig Godfrey,, who joined Brighter Super in October 2025 after senior roles across financial planning and SMSF administration.

His previous positions included head of advice for Findex Queensland, national manager for BT Panorama SMSF Accounting Services and general manager of the SMSF Association of Australia.

Brighter Super said Godfrey brings more than 25 years of financial services experience across Australia and South Africa, with expertise spanning advice leadership, insurance training and corporate risk.

Existing BDMs Geoff McIlveen and Ryan Murphy, alongside senior manager adviser growth Nicky Leis, remain part of the expanded adviser services team.

The appointments come as superannuation funds continue competing more aggressively for adviser relationships amid growing demand for retirement advice and greater focus on scalable adviser support models.
