Former St George Bank margin lending head Andrew Black has become financial services company Skandia's second retail general manager.

Black, who replaced Mark Papendieck in the job, left St George Bank in December.

Skandia saw a number of high profile appointments and departures in 2007, general manager Mark Papendieck left after just over a year in the job last December.

It also hired its third head of retail distribution in less than two years with Wes Gillett replacing Martin Morris last year. Morris took over from Richard Borysiewicz who left in 2006.

Skandia's management is now very strong, the firm's chief executive, Ross Laidlaw said. "(Black's) skills will complement those of Wes Gillett."

St George Bank announced  national sales manager Paul Lewis wouldl step in for Black as head of margin lending till a replacement is found.
