Mr Karunakaran brings more than 12 years’ experience as a portfolio manager to the role and was at Saka Capital, Moore Capital, Tricadia Capital and Deutsche Bank prior to starting at Ardea.
“As portfolio manager, Gopi will focus on generating investment ideas and adds to the depth and diversity of experience in Ardea’s highly regarded investment team,” according to Ardea.
Separately, Ardea has also announced the appointment of former Challenger investment compliance analyst Harry Singh to the role of dealing and compliance, and will trade cash, rebalance portfolio, monitor mandate compliance and manage cash requirements of financial parameters.
Ardea principal and co-founder Ben Alexander said he welcomed the two new additions to the team.
