Mr Long was formerly employed at Colonial First State, where he served as the business's national manager of retirement.
Prior to this, Mr Long worked at Mercer Australia as head of wealth management Pacific and van Eyk Research as head of distribution.
Commenting on the appointment, NAB Asset Management general manager of product and investment communications Lisa Boyce said the business was "delighted to have someone of Brian’s calibre" join.
