Fox departs Suncorp

By Kate Kachor
Thursday 8 May 2008

Suncorp will reshuffle its executive team after wealth management group executive Dennis Fox announced his retirement late yesterday.

Fox will retire from the financial services industry on July 31.

Former National Australia Bank specialised businesses general manager Geoffrey Summerhayes has been named as Fox's replacement.

"Dennis played a key role in the growth of brands such as Tyndall and Asteron in Australia and New Zealand. He was also a former chief executive of Royal & Sun Alliance Financial Services," Suncorp chief executive John Mulcahy said.

"This depth of experience has been invaluable in integrating the Promina and Suncorp wealth management businesses."

Fox has held various roles in the financial services industry, with a career that spans more than 35 years.

Prior to his role with Suncorp, Fox held the position as Promina Financial Services chief executive.

As head of Promina's financial services group, Fox was responsible for the companies Tyndall and Asteron including the Cameron Walshe and Guardian Financial Planning dealer groups.

Fox has held senior executive positions for 20 years, initially as a partner in the actuarial firm of Towers Perrin.

Summerhayes will begin with Suncorp on May 26.
