Andrew McLachlan will commence work with SMI on 25 May as a credit analyst.
SMI co-chief investment officer, Darren Harvey, said Mr McLachlan has been the "top credit strategist at two multi-billion dollar fixed income managers – Perennial and then Vianova – for the last 15 years".
"[He will]l deepen SMI's analytical capabilities in the Aussie cash and fixed-income spaces," Mr Harvey said.

Mr McLachlan began his private sector career as an economist for NAB.
