FTSE names head of global ESG research

London-based FTSE Group has appointed a deputy head of ESG who will be responsible for overseeing ESG research.

John Jarrett has been appointed to the newly created role.

FTSE head of ESG David Harris said, “We are pleased to welcome John Jarrett to FTSE.

“John has significant market experience in the ESG space and his appointment reflects FTSE’s continued commitment to further develop the breadth and depth of our research capabilities,” he said.

“FTSE has led the way in the development of ESG factors and they are a fundamental part of FTSE’s offering.

“We continue to work closely with our clients to provide a comprehensive range of products and data to help to support them in reaching their investment decisions,” Mr Harris said.

FTSE has also appointed Tony Campos as the new head of ESG Americas and Arisa Kishigami as head of ESG Asia.

“Our global reach is also strengthened with [these appointments],” Mr Harris said.

Mr Jarrett held previous executive positions at GovernanceMetrics International (GMI).
