Axa Investment Managers has hired former Mercer CIO Tim Gardener as its global head of consultant relations.
Axa Investment Managers (Axa IM) has appointed Tim Gardener as its global head of consultant relations.
Gardener joins the firm from Mercer, where he held the role of global chief investment officer since 2008, and prior to this was global head of investment consulting along with various other roles over his 33-year tenure at the organisation.
In his new job, he will be responsible for the development and strategic direction of consultant relationships globally, including Australia.
Based in London, he will begin his role in October and will also be a member of Axa IM's executive committee.
His recruitment is the latest high-profile appointment for Axa IM, with the firm also recently hiring Jon Bailie from Russell Investments and Mark Beveridge, who was formerly Goldman Sachs Asset Management CIO.
"Tim is highly regarded and well known among Australian institutional investors and we are delighted to have him on board at Axa IM," Axa IM Australia director Craig Hurt said.
"The Cooper review highlighted the importance of well-constructed balanced funds using all available asset classes and we believe that our multi-expert model positions us well to make a positive contribution to that debate. Tim's insights will be particularly useful in this regard."
Investors may need to shift a greater portion of their assets beyond Australia if they are to take advantage of emerging investment themes. ... read more »
