Perpetual has hired industry veteran Veronik Verkest.
Perpetual has hired Veronik Verkest as an investment consultant to advise on business and new product opportunities.
Verkest comes from Barwon Investment Partners, where she was a research manager.
She has been hired on a contract basis and will report to Perpetual products and business development general manager Edwina Maloney.
"We hired her because we've got a lot of work in the products space: products health checks, reviewing all the PDSs (product disclosure statements) and strategies, looking at new incubation strategies," Perpetual equities group executive Cathy Doyle said.
"The great thing with Veronik is she has a very wide background, both on product development and business development. You can give her a project and she can do the whole work from start to finish."
Verkest is best known for her work at Russell Investment Group, where she established the Russell Implemented Consulting business from concept to a business with $5 billion in assets under management.
She left Russell in 2003 and took up a role with Principle Advisory Services, where she worked on the strategic development and growth of boutique start-ups.
During her time there she helped Principle raise $1 billion for infrastructure and private equity clients from Australian institutional investors.
