Wilson HTM appoints four new staff to its investment and financial advisory divisions.

Wilson HTM Investment Group (Wilson HTM) has recruited new staff to both its investment advisory and financial advisory divisions, the group has announced.

Peter Simpson, a former UBS director within its private wealth management division, has been appointed as a senior investment adviser.

He returns to Wilson HTM in Sydney following five years with UBS and Macquarie.

Wilson HTM has also recruited industry veteran David Cook, who started his career in the floor trading days with Nevitts as a senior investment adviser in Brisbane.

On the financial advisory side, the group has recruited former Walter Turnbull senior financial adviser John Tutt and former National Australia Bank Private Wealth specialised investments associate director Koby Jones.

Tutt and Jones have both been appointed as senior financial planners to the financial planning teams in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.

Wilson HTM said it plans to boost its private client adviser numbers with organic growth from within its ranks, supplemented by selective recruitment of experienced advisers.

It currently employs around 110 investment and financial advisers and is looking to reach its target of 175 by 2012, up from a base of 85 in 2008, a statement said.

"The numbers might seem concentrated by some standards but we are very conscious of employing the right people culturally and ensuring they are successful in what they do," Wilson HTM head of stockbroking and discretionary funds management Brad Usasz said.

In March this year, the group also hired former Premium Wealth Management chief executive Chris Saunders as its new head of financial planning.
